OSHKOSH, Wis–A Menasha man who killed another man at a Neenah bar files an appeal. Casey Cameron wants to withdraw his guilty pleas, claiming his conviction was the result of “prosecutorial vindictiveness” and that his rights to due process under the 14th Amendment were violated.
Cameron shot Kevin “Hollywood” Hein to death during a robbery of Short Branch Saloon in October of 2019. The appeal is based on the state dismissing the original criminal complaint and filing a new one charging Cameron with four new counts that were not in the original complaint.
A hearing on the appeal is scheduled for October 31st.
