APPLETON, Wis. — Appleton police are searching for a convicted child sex offender.
Paul Schmidt has an active felony warrant through the state Department of Corrections for absconding probation. He is currently on supervision for two counts of First Degree Sexual Assault of a Child.
Police believe Schmidt may be headed toward the northern part of the state. His vehicle, a red 2013 Kia Optima sedan with Wisconsin license plate ARJ5907, was possibly last seen in the Green Bay area.
Schmidt is described as 5-foot-8 and 193 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Appleton police or their local law enforcement agency.
