One of my favorite topics to cover on this program is the ongoing development of Northeast Wisconsin, both the workforce and the infrastructure. Whether it’s exclusively through the determination of the people in the area, or through the use of funds provided by different government programs, the people in this area of the country are always looking for the best possible ways to try an improve.
Senator Tammy Baldwin joined me earlier today to discuss a number of factors impacting the workforce of our state.
Last week, she visited Brickstead Dairy in Greenleaf to highlight federal investments that will benefit farmers in our area. Specifically, the federal investments will provide subsidies to farmers interested in developing cheaper, more sustainable approaches that will improve bottom lines.
She also announced a 5 million dollar deposit in Green Bay’s “Shipyard Project”, turning a brown field into a number of options for public use, including a dog park, event space and urban beach.
We wrapped up the conversation talking about the 2 Energizer plants leaving the state looking for a cheaper work force. She lays out what she would hope to see the FTC do if this situation were to ever happen again.
