APPLETON, Wis–A former Appleton Police officer that forged signatures on warrants reaches a plea deal with prosecutors. Jeremy Haney is convicted on one count of Misconduct in Office, while a Forgery count is dismissed.
Haney forged the name of an Outagamie County assistant district attorney on a warrant authorizing the placement of a tracking device on a suspect’s vehicle last year. He resigned from the force after charges were filed against him. He had been with the Appleton Police Department for 15-years.
Haney has been ordered to pay a $500 fine and is barred from working in law enforcement again.
