APPLETON, WI — The suspect in a “shots fired” incident at Erb Park in Appleton pleads not guilty. Tyrese Tupac Shakir Simmons entered that plea in Outagamie County Court today. Simmons is charged with Second-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Bail Jumping, Resisting or Obstructing an Officer, Disorderly Conduct, Felon in Possesion of a Firearm and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. Those charges are in connection with a report of shots fired at Erb Park on June 25. According to the criminal complaint, Simmons was near a group of young people when pulled out a gun and fired in the air. A handgun was recovered and Simmons was quickly identified as the shooting. There were no injuries are property damage reported following the incident.
