GREENLAND–Two German pilots are okay after having to ditch their plane in the North Atlantic Ocean on their way back from the E-A Airventure. The single-engine Piper Malibu was en route from Newfoundland to Greenland Monday afternoon when the pilot radioed in a “mayday” call and informed air traffic control that he was ditching into the water.
An Arctic Patrol boat was able to reach the plane, which was floating on the water, and rescue the passengers on board.
