OSHKOSH, Wis. — The Oshkosh Area School District approves updating the district’s Title IX policies.
The board of education votes 5-2 Wednesday to approve bringing district rules into compliance with federal revisions to expand non-discrimination protections based on gender and sexual preference.
Board member Barbara Herzog says adoption of the revised Title IX is in line with the district’s primary mission…
Board member Timothy Hess says adoption of the revised Title IX is not needed with existing protections in place…
Not all Oshkosh schools will be covered by the revised Title IX rules.
A lawsuit by the group “Moms for Liberty” resulted in injunctions covering Perry Tipler Elementary and Middle School, Carl Trager Elementary and Middle School, Oakwood Elementary School and Oshkosh West High School. Title IX rules from 2020 would remain in place in those schools.
