NEENAH, Wis. — The 2024 Community First Fox Cities Marathon has been cancelled.
Weather conditions Sunday forced organizers to cancel the Fox Cities Marathon, the half marathon and relay marathons.
“Due to the forecast of thunderstorms, lightning and heavy rain predicted for the first several hours of the course, we are heartbroken to announce that for the safety of all runners, volunteers, public service employees and spectators, the marathon, half marathon and relay marathons scheduled for Sunday, September 22nd have been cancelled,” officials shared in a statement.
“We are as disappointed as you are and appreciate your understanding and support as we made this difficult decision in consultation with national weather service sites and WBAY meteorologists to make the best decisions for the safety of participants.”
