DPI spokesman Chris Bucher insists that standards have not been lowered to produce better-looking results…….
In our area, 53% of Appleton Area School District students met the new standard of “meeting expectations” in reading–while 54% were at that level in math. In Green Bay, 36% of kids are “meeting expectations” in reading–with 39% at that level in math.
In Oshkosh schools, 47% are “meeting expectations”–while that number is 49% in math. You can find a link to the D-P-I website to search for other district numbers here.
