MADISON, Wis. — The 2024 gun-deer season in Wisconsin is off to a slow start.
The DNR reports 89,200 whitetails were registered during the opening weekend. That compares to 90,800 the first two days of the 2023 season.

It was a safe opening weekend, as there were no firearms-related injuries reported.
