A group is giving people a chance to buy a shirt to remember a fallen Appleton firefighter.
The proceeds will go to the family of Driver-Engineer Mitch Lundgaard. He was killed, while on an overdose call last month, at the downtown transit center.
The Friends of the Appleton Fire Department is selling the official shirts online, until July 7th.
Foundation board member and Driver-Engineer Brad Brautigam says they decided to come up with a design that would honor Lundgaard’s memory, and something that would be sold to the public. He says it’s similar to one that firefighters will be wearing while they’re on duty.
The red T-shirt has an Appleton fire department logo on the front, and a “Thin Red Line” flag on the back, with Lundgaard’s name.
There are also long-sleeve shirts and sweatshirts available.
