Health care systems in northeast Wisconsin are trying to make sure their workers don’t have to worry about child care, while they’re on the job.
ThedaCare, Ascension, and Aurora are partnering with the YMCA of the Fox Cities and the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley.
Paula Morgen is ThedaCare’s director of community improvement, and she says it’s a sense of relief for workers. She says if they have to be on the front lines, helping coronavirus patients, they know their kids are going to be taken care of at licensed facilities.
Morgen says the number of coronavirus cases in the area is still fairly low, and they haven’t seen a surge of health care workers looking for child care yet. But she thinks that could change at any moment.
Dani Englebert of the YMCA says they have extra safety measures in place at their Child Learning Center. She says they screen for temperatures, and workers are making sure they keep the place sanitized.
