I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. I’m a diehard Steelers fan and an indifferent Pirates fan. This move to Appleton is actually my first time living outside of the state. I worked in sales for my first 6 years after college but decided it was time to enjoy what I did for a living, and I have been working in radio ever since.

I started with KDKA Radio in 2017, where I got my glamorous start in the promotions department handing out magnets for minimum wage. Over the course of the next 5 years, I’ve worked just about every position a newsroom has to offer: News Editor, News Reporter, News Anchor, Producer, and Fill-In Talent. I am very excited about this opportunity since this will be my first time hosting my own show full-time.

You will usually find me at a sports bar, concert, or maybe just reading under a tree when I’m not working. I can’t wait to see what other things there are to do around this city and become a part of the community.

I’m a Hortonville & UW-Whitewater alum who started my career in television, making stops in Madison, Rhinelander and Green Bay before making the switch to talk radio! You can hear me from 11-1 p.m. as host of Focus Fox Valley on WHBY. I hope each show brings an opportunity to learn something new or to connect with a person, organization, cause or issue that’s important to the Fox Valley.

When I’m not on the radio, I’m cruise directing the fun at home. As a mom of three, we’re in a fun season of school, trying new activities and spending time together. I’ve been married to my husband Brian, since 2015. For fun, I enjoy going for hikes, trying new recipes, gardening, skiing on land or water, visiting the family’s cabin or camping with family and friends.

In addition to hosting Your News Now on WHBY, I am also the Director of Multimedia Journalism for the Woodward Community Media.  I also do play-by-play for local high school sports on WHBY, on our sister station The Score, and on our video stream.

My wife, Michele, and I live in Oshkosh.  When I’m not covering or talking about news, you will find me on the golf course or officiating local high school sports.  I also serve on the Board of Directors for the Fox Valley Memory Project–which provides services to those living with Alzheimer’s Disease and their caretakers.

I got my start in radio in high school, reporting news for WRCO in my hometown of Richland Center. After moving to Oshkosh for college, I became the news director of WRST, the official radio station of the UW-Oshkosh Titans. I also called several Titan football and basketball games, including the men’s basketball team’s national championship victory in 2019.

When I’m not reporting the news, I enjoy watching sports (especially the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, and Badgers), spending time outdoors, and getting together with family and friends.

Get to know Terry Kovarik:

During my time here, I’ve had numerous life changes:  the births of my grandchildren, becoming a homeowner, and converting to an avid Green Bay Packers fan.  I still follow my hometown teams the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Red Wings, though I find myself also keeping an eye on the Milwaukee Brewers during the baseball season.

In my off time, my wife, Dellrose, and I enjoy spending time with each other and the grandkids.  When it’s just the two of us, you’ll find us biking through Door County and also on Mackinac Island, Michigan when the opportunity presents itself.  We also like golfing, though we’ve both come to the realization that nobody on the PGA or LPGA circuits has anything to fear from us.  It’s just fun for us to take walks in beautiful scenery with the occasional interruptions by a little white ball.   My wife, my daughter, and our grandchildren have been life’s greatest blessings from the good Lord himself.
