There’s a celebration of Kwanzaa tomorrow on the UW-Green Bay campus.
Organizer Bao Sengkhammee says the holiday is an African-American tradition that emphasizes community and cultural pride. She says the founder of Heal the Hood MKE in Milwaukee will be the keynote speaker. The group is trying to bring peace throughout that city.
Sengkhammee says the celebration is open to the community. It’s from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow, in the Phoenix Rooms in the University Union.
