A mural painted by teens through the Summer of Service program will be done today on Appleton’s north side.
It’s a partnership between Appleton police, the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley and the Appleton school district. The mural is on the north side of the Grand Meridian on N. Oneida Street.
Officer Sean Kuether says it features a woman with her hair flowing backward. He says the title is “She Was Relentless.”
About 26 high school students have been working at Riverview Gardens, Bubolz Nature Preserve and for the Appleton parks and recreation department.
Kuether says the program is aimed at giving them meaningful, team-based community service projects, and teaching them valuable life skills.
