Green Bay city leaders are updating neighbors who live along the East River on what they’re doing to address flooding.
Development Director Kevin Vonck says one idea is to buy properties in the flood plain.
Vonck says they’ve identified 37 homes and are applying for a grant through FEMA that would allow the city to buy them.
Some homes were condemned in March after flash flooding and others sustained thousands of dollars in damages.
Vonck says the city won’t force anyone to sell.
