TOAD comes to Neenah

Wednesday, Jun, 24 2015

It has nothing to do with the frog-like creature.

It has everything to do with big-time bike racing in our state.

TOAD

Tour of America's Dairyland

Riders from around the world compete in a series of bike races across Wisconsin, and Neenah hosts on Thursday with the "Neenah Rocket Criterium" event.

Races will be held throughout the day for various categories/levels of riders.
If you have never experienced the sheer speed and excitement of watching a bike race in person I urge you to attend. It's a blast. I'll be there hanging out before the PhilCast on Thursday to watch. If I was faster, thinner and younger I'd be racing myself!

CLICK HERE to see the complete schedule and learn more about Thursday's TOAD stop in Neenah.

Milwaukee has Stones

Tuesday, Jun, 23 2015

I've instructed Reggie to play all Rolling Stones bump songs today in honor of tonight's Big Gig concert in Milwaukee.

Summerfest doesn't actually open until Wednesday, but tonight's concert could be considered a 'soft opening' for one of the biggest music festivals on the planet.

JAWS

Monday, Jun, 22 2015

How can it be?

How can "JAWS" be 40 years ago?

But alas, we're all getting older by the day. And indeed, it was the summer of 1975.

40 years ago this past weekend, the movie that changed everything for summer blockbusters was released.

Critics disliked it.
Too violent.
Remember, this was before there was even a PG-13 rating in the system.

Now, it's a classic.
We'll talk about some quirky JAWS facts when we chat about the movie on the Monday PhilCast.

Hey South Carolina, do the right thing

Friday, Jun, 19 2015

Take it down.

While the American Flag and a state flag over their capitol have been lowered to half-staff in honor of the shooting victims, the confederate is still on high.

Why?
Because they say it can not be lowered since there is no pulley system on it.

Really.

How about taking it down instead? For good.

I'll discuss the flag and one single guy in the entire shooting story that hasn't got much attention, but did something rather incredible there Wednesday night after the shots rang out.

Cowboy boot sandals

Thursday, Jun, 18 2015

So this is bizarre.

On Thursday I've got the story of a company that is now making redneck cowboy boot sandals.

Wal-Mart here I come.
