The new Girl Scout cookies

Tuesday, Jan, 6 2015

Here they are, the three new varieties from the Girl Scouts this year.
I'll be discussing as part of the Tuesday PhilCast.

This is the Oatmeal Rah-Rah Raisin cookie, with Greek yogurt chunks in it.

Started out OK until I saw the word yogurt in the title.

This is the one with toffee bits inside.

I'll take toffee bits over yogurt chunks any day by the way.

It's called Toffee-tastic and it is also a gluten-free cookie, because it seems that's all the rage these days, whether you need to be gluten-less or not.

And this one is called Trios.

Peanut butter, chocolate chips and whole-grain oats....also gluten-free on this one.

Call me old school, but I'll stick with thin mints and a big glass of cold 2% milk.

Goldfish surgery

Monday, Jan, 5 2015

Yes, that's a goldfish being operated on.

It's one of the things I'll be talking about on the Monday PhilCast.

Poor thing couldn't poop...and some sap who owned it paid a bunch of money to make sure it lived.

Is a goldfish even really a pet?

We'll discuss.

Polar "Plunge"?

Friday, Jan, 2 2015

So here we go with the first PhilCast show of 2015....

And my first rant of the new year pertains to this tradition of something called a "Polar Plunge".

Here's my issue with this;
Who do you see plunging?

It's not called the "Polar Wade In And Splash Around Like A Sissy".

Call it a plunge and I better see wet heads! Where's the plunging? My kingdom for a plunger...sort of.
